Grilled Cheese Donuts Are Basically The Best Invention Ever For Carb Lovers

Just when you thought the donut game had peaked with the likes of maple bacon, a place in New York has gone and made foodies around the globe drool where they stand with the announcement of the grilled cheese donut.

As simple as it sounds, this isn't your mother's grilled cheese. Available at New York's Clinton Hall, this new creation is dubbed "The Flamin' Hot Doughnut Grilled Cheese." So you're not only getting ooey gooey cheesey goodness in donut form, but a little heat to give it some kick. So you have a glazed habanero bacon donut that's filled with mozzarella. Oh, but it gets better. Clinton Hall then wins bonus points for then hanging that decadent creation over a bowl of tomato soup.

Go ahead, let that go ahead sink in.

The only bad part about this, other than not living in New York for a lot of us, is that "The Flamin' Hot Doughnut Grilled Cheese" will only be available for a month...on the weekends. So get there Friday through Sunday as soon as you can. Then when you do, please share your experience. Snap it, Instagram it, post it anyway you can because if this savory dessert can get enough attention, maybe they'll keep it longer. We can only hope.

This isn’t the first time a donut has made us feel like this. When Breaking Bad was all we could talk about, we wanted nothing more than to head to New Mexico to Rebel Donut for their homage to the AMC show with their "Blue Sky" donut adorned with the signature blue "meth." Of course that was based off our love of Walter and Jesse. We also went insane for Psycho Donut's "Dead Elvis" which featured a glazed donut topped with peanut butter, jelly, bananas and of course bacon.

Donuts, man. One of the best things humans ever created for mankind. Now let’s all get tickets to New York, hit up Clinton Hill and get down on a dozen or so “The Flamin' Hot Doughnut Grilled Cheeses.” We can worry about the calories later, much, much later.
